Lots of exciting pot news to report.

First and foremost the exhibition 'TAKE 5' is up and running. 9th - 24 April

Was really worried about the whole logistics of the set-up as we bring our own stands and attatch them to the gallery wall but Will Illsley, designer of the stands, retired potter and all round gent, came and helped us install them, everyone came and painted and helped and it was all pretty problem free.

The results make it all worthwhile.

As always I've gone to town on the plants and flowers. I just can't resist. Many years ago, on a visit to the Danish National Gallery in Copenhagen, I stumbled upon the work of Tage Andersen, florist by royal appointment to Queen Margrethe. They'd asked him to make floral arrangements/installations in each of the gallery rooms in sympathy with whichever pictures caught his eye. The results were magnificent.

In order to promote the exhibition and the Stamford Pottery Market 1st & 2nd May (we take down 'TAKE 5' on the Sunday and are back with the Market on the following Sunday) I have been courting the press a bit. Got a great feature in the April edition of Stamford Living (page 46) written by Clare Kelly.

Here's hoping this helps to get people through the door.

Another exciting development is that some of my pots have been painted. The Leeds Artist, Fiona Starr has bought some of my pots in the past and likes to include them in her paintings.

I feel gobsmacked, flattered, cock-a-hoop and stunned all at once.

Fiona will be exhibiting these and other paintings at the Walker Galleries Contempory Art, Harrogate, 14th - 21st May.

I think that's about it. Ought to go back into the workshop and make some planters for the charity tombola at the Stamford Pottery Market . We're supporting Sue Ryder again this year. Alternatively I need to clean out the Greenhouse but it's raining and the roof leaks so I might be forced to hoover the house instead. Or bake a cake.
